validation help

hi is this posible to validate input type file using jquery then please help to me i have to check that the file size is not exceed 1mb and the extensions of file must be jpg,gif and png so please help to me.

i have validated the extention but i don't have any idea to check the file size and i have multiple file objects so please do it on the bases of file and not on the bases of class and id
