W3C validation finds an error in the selector!?!

Is the a way to keep the W3C validation application from find an error in the selector syntax of a Jquery plugin. This can be seen here and going to the end of the page and clicking the W3C button. Strange! I did not think the validation checking went into Jquery's selectory syntax.
