what does mean var options = { gives me error in the the internet explorer buttom bar

I got problem in the sortable plugins gives me in the buttom of the browser line error
and i found the line is
var options = {
so what does it mean ?
could anyone help me please ?
i get hard to make it work
i want to make my forum tables sortable for the users
