[jQuery] Superfish + Interface conflict
I'm using the superfish menu and the Interface sortables feature. I have it so the interface plugin only loads when a page is going to use it. So I know Superfish works fine with my customizations. It's flawless in the way I want it to work. The only issue I have is whenever I visit the page that uses Interface, the Superfish menu has noticable lag when each item is dropped down, and then when it comes time for it to disapear. I don't even know where to start debugging this... can someone point me
[jQuery] Injecting an <APPLET> tag
Why do I need to .append() to a container rather than use .html() for <applet> tags? function PlayAudioWav(src) { var s = ""; if (jQuery.browser.msie) { s += '<bgsound src="'+src+'">'; } else { s += '<applet code="wcAudioPlay.class" width=0 height=0 codebase="/public">'; s += '<param name="src" value="'+src+'">'; s += '</applet>'; } //$("#divAudio").html(s); // html() does not work, use append() $("#divAudio").append(s); return; } The behavior applies to FF only. For IE, I can inject <bgsound> fine.

[jQuery] treeview plugin - store option doesn't work to remember which items were clicked
Here's what I've got got in the head section of my HTML: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function(){ $("#pageNav").Treeview({speed: "fast", collapsed: true, store: true}); }); </script> The store option doesn't appear to work at all for me. I went through John Resigs screencast on using jquery with firebug at http://jquery.com/blog/2007/01/26/introduction-to-firebug-and-jquery-screencast/ I tried using xpath in the firebug console but get no results for a xpath that I get from firebug when inspecting a text element alert($("/html/body/div/div[2]/div[4]/div[4]/div/div/div[2]/div/ p",document).text()); also tried alert($("/html/body/div/div[2]/div[4]/div[4]/div/div/div[2]/div/ p").text()); Get a blank alert. [jQuery] jQuery source code readability
Hi, I really like jQuery's API but find the libraries source code difficult to read. For example: - Short var names - Ommission of braces and heavy use of shorthand if(), for() blocks - Nested ternary operators, some of which transcend several lines Does anyone know if there are plans to improve the readability of the source code going forward? Am I alone in thinking the source code is difficult to read? (I don't mean it's overall construction, I like the methodology, just the fine grain stuff mentioned
[jQuery] 1.1 → 1.2. Interface's problems with jQuery.dequeue
Hi I get error when using ifxscrollto.js (ScrollTo effect) concerning jQuery.dequeue. jQuery.dequeue is not a function jQuery.dequeue(z.e, 'interfaceFX'); I even downloaded new Interface 1.2 but the problem is still there. jQuery compat. plugin doesn't solve this mystery. I tried doing this (in this plugin): z.clear = function(){ clearInterval(z.timer);z.timer=null; if (jQuery.dequeue) { jQuery.dequeue(z.e, 'interfaceFX'); } }; It erases error message, but also ability to
[jQuery] Dynamic loading of PHP array into jCarousel?
Hi all, I'm a bit confused trying to understand sources on dynamic loading of images into a jCarousel object. The issue here is the JavaScript array is already populated by page load, and obviously I can't see how server-side data was used to populate it. I'm a bit novice when it comes to this, but could certainly use some help. An example JavaScript array taken from the example sites include: var mycarousel_itemList = [ {url: "http://static.flickr.com/66/199481236_dc98b5abb3_s.jpg", title: "Flower1"},
[jQuery] jCarousel with thickbox inquiry re: scrolling photos
Hi folks, This is probably something I'll end up needing to address on the respective thickbox forums. I was hoping to give my luck a go at the forum here though as the community is always willing to help. Anyway, I have a development page I'm working on which is publically accessible via here: http://devel.phpgeek.org/inventory/single/10 As you can see, the heart and soul of this profile is the lovely jcarousel plugin with thickbox functionality. What I'd like to do to further enhance UI and avoid

[jQuery] bassistance validition plugin & the form plugin
Hi all, I'm stumped on this. I use Ajax to load a form into the DOM. I use the FORM plugin to handle the form and the Validation plugin to validate it. If I load the form, fill out everything completely and click submit, it works perfect. However, if I type in bad data, click submit and trigger a validation error, then fix the error and click submit, it posts the form 2 times. If i make 2 errors (3 total clicks on submit) - it submits it 3 times. If I make 3 errors (4 total clicks) - it submits 4

Hello, I would like to develop a "next item" in jQuery but I can't find how to develop it. For example the html is : <div id="items"> <div class="item"> </div> <div class="item"> </div> </div> And I will have a "next" and "previous" button to navigate through the .item. [jQuery] Problems with firefox performance?
Hey guys. My job is to make the interface of a new browser-based game. (No, i'm not some 14 year old trying to make habbo ;)). The game includes JQuery + SWFObject at each page, since they're both used. Then, it uses a common script, approximately 500 rules, for some common things. Then, the larger pages have a +- 600 rules script of themselves + the plugins. My most used plugins are Draggable and Droppable from interface.eyecon.ro In firefox, each page goes rather slow. The biggest page, we'll name

[jQuery] Firefox and performance? Opera and.. queuing?
Hey guys, I am developing a rather large (from my point of view) interface, currently standing with 4300 rules of javascript (included a stripped jquery (1900) and swfobject + some plugins (interface iutil, ifx and idrag)), and each 15 seconds a JSON object with 4kb of plain text. Well, what's the problem? Opera runs like hell. The drag slows a bit on the tick, but goes sweet between ticks. Cpu performance of opera is nice too. Firefox however, isn't. The cpu is quite high: 60-90 on a tick, 30-60
[jQuery] Help for Form plugin

[jQuery] Please help: How to simulate a Tab key press with jQuery
Hi, I have a very large and complex form, and I am using some autocomplete components, and I need when user selects one item in the autocomplete option list, focus automatically go to the next component, like pressing the tab key. So, I am trying to simulate a tab key press on a component, with no success. I mean, sending a tab key to a component, just like if someone had pressed it. Using $item.keypress() or $item.keydown() there is no way to add the needed keyCode=9 I had no luck using trigger('keydown',[{keyCode:9}]);
[jQuery] finding the parent style
I have a master-detail display with an iframe to display the detail. The iframe URL is autonomous in that it was originally designed to be displayed in its own page and hence it has its own style sheet. What I would to do is automatically change the style sheet (colors mostly) of the iframe content based on the parent. Essentially, when the URL is requested, I want it to: 1) If its called directly (no parent), then leave the style sheet alone. 2) If its called via an iframe (by a parent document),

[jQuery] Plugin documentation & dependency tool
Hi all, I've written a command-line documentation & dependency tool for jQuery plugins: http://code.diffle.com/jqdoc/ I did it mostly to solve a few pressing problems I had. Among the things this is useful for: * Getting a full transitive dependency list of a plugin * Packaging together plugins with their dependencies, so you have only a single file to download (in combination with UNIX "cat" command) * Building full documentation for a set of plugins from the command line. * Parsing doc comments

[jQuery] Stripping query string from URI?
There's a ticket opened for this: http://dev.jquery.com/ticket/1579 But does anyone know the rationale here? Is there any chance we can get this fixed in 1.2.1? I like the concept, but there needs to be some way of disabling this functinality for the $.ajax() method to be truly usable like it had been. I'm also kind of surprised to not see this in the changelog anywhere? Side note, excellent work on 1.2 as a whole! Pax, - Stan
