I'm looking for a slide out menu that follows these guidelines: -Should be Firefox 1.5 and greater and IE 6/7 compatible (it *must* look the same on both browsers) -*Must* be Vertical (but if it supports horizontal menus, better) -It *must* support unlimited sub-levels. -It should look somewhat modern (like a nice fade/slide effect when opening/closing menus), although I'm sure that with jQuery's flexibility, that could be added on any existing menu. Hi, I'm a newbie in jquery please be patient :-) I'm playin with jquery mixing some tutorials. I'm trying to open a with some text within with the animation control, and a link. Then when I opened the I want to change the behaviour of the link. Hello, I am an absolute jquery newbie since yesterday evening. I couldn't make some stuff go away. I struggled for some time with this (later saw in the manual, that hide() only applies to stuff that is visible). So just in case anybody else is a newbie and struggles with the same as me, here is an example. It removes the loading class (which is invisible) from the top table after load and (I thought!;-) after hiding some of the bad rows in it. The workaround is as easy as initially hiding "hideme"

I am trying to find speedups in a piexe of jQuery code, unfortunately I am running out of tricks. I've tried to reduce or eliminate the use of $ in loops, but in a few places I've been using $(this) in loos, mainly each loops. I would like to know if there are faster ways of doing things other than using $(this), as I have a feelign that if I can elimate it I can save myself some time in the loops.

I'm new to jQuery and I have to say I love it! I hate javascript but now I like it cuz of query. Anyways enough of that :) I'm a CSS developer also. I know that the :hover pseudo element doesn't work in IE 6 so I always have to use javascript using mouseover/mouseout events. My question is, in jQuery is hover using the CSS or using acting as a backend mouseover event? Final question... what should i use hover or mouseover... making sure it works on IE7, Firefox and IE6. Many times the ajax request gets timeout and the show/hide or slideup/ down function gets stalled. Even the next succcessful ajax call does not update the element. [jQuery] Bound function on appended image
I have a function bound to an image class. If I insert another copy of the image (with the same class), the bound function doesn't work on it. Very simple example here: http://www.mm-webs.com/sandbox/test.html The alert sign produces an alert box. The green plus sign inserts another set of images. I love jQuery and I love jQuery and... http://feed.joomlaprodigy.com/ I had surgery last week for appendicitis and while recovering in bed I made this feed reader,viewer or whatever you call it. I use Joomla on my site and this is based over Joomla. The rss feeds are imported in database with cron and then displayed with jquery magic. There are still many flaws and the ticker is not very clean but works. I would be very glad to have any suggestions.

The main issue is that in Opera (the latest version 9.21) the menu's that drop down don't work when I mouse over them. i.e. their colour doesn't change to that which I have specified in the css. Hello, As a humble user of jQuery and several great plugins I would like to request that anyone who releases anything to the public always insert the version of the release in the filename. Instead of my_cool_plugin.js, use my_cool_plugin.v1.js. Instead of my_cool_plugin.latest.js, use my_cool_plugin.v1.js. For keeping track of what file is at which version, it's much easier to do if I can quickly glance at my js directory and see the version in the filename. (This goes for the jQuery team too.)

Hi there, I'm putting together an editable combobox using the twice modified autocomplete plugin (Dylan Verhuel's I think). I start with a dropdown and a text input, then create an array from the <option>s values. I replace the static HTML with a single text input followed by a link that I want to use as a toggle to open and close the dropdown created by the autocomplete plugin. I know that I can reference the zeroth element in the array of matches. Hi, the question may not be clear but what i would like to know is how do you get the width of an image AFTER the image has fully downloaded. I use this chunk of code: var pictWidth = this.find("img").width(); where "this" is the jQuery context. Hi, I'm using the spinButton plugin (http://www.softwareunity.com/sandbox/ jqueryspinbtn/) on input elements which have a parent div with "overflow:auto". whenever this parent div has enough content so that the scroll bars show up and you scroll down to use a spinbButton, the plugin won't work properly - you can only use the up arrow.
