[jQuery] SVN update: cssHover
I've updated cssHover with some new stuff, check out the discussion on this topic earlier in the mailinglist. Basicly i added a new function, so you can use "this.click()" to toggle the state, and "this.chSetState(true|false)" to change the state. You can also use "this.chSetState(true|false, TRUE)" to force the change even on disabled items, since they normally don't get updated. I also updated the css sprites so they now use 1 background image instead of each state their own. I'll commit the changes

[jQuery] How to display error/validation messages?
Hi folks, what is your preferred approach to display messages? Think of validation messages for a form. I'm looking for an approach that would work for both client- and serverside generated messages. For example, a form is validated via JS and displays some messages. Now the user disables JS, submits the form, and gets the same error messages, displayed in the same way, only that it takes a little longer. Your ideas and experiences are welcome, demo pages are even better :-) -- Jörn Zaefferer http://bassistance.de

[jQuery] Form Validation (no Ajax)
I've used Jörn Zaefferer's plugin titled "Form Validation (no Ajax)" on the plugins page for normal form submission -- nicely done. I assumed that the "no Ajax" meant you didn't have to get your validation rules from the server. But now I find I can't make it work *with* Ajax submission ($.getJSON). So maybe "no Ajax" means "no Ajax" :-) But, just in case, is there a way to do a validation on click , then submit depending on the results? Here's an approach that does not work: ------------ $( document
[jQuery] opinions on Run ? compared to jquery...
Hi All Just wanna to know your opinions on Run (yet another js framework) and to compare it to the jquery way. It was on ajaxian : <a href="http://ajaxian.com/archives/run-universal-javascript-animation-framework"> http://ajaxian.com/archives/run-universal-javascript-animation-framework</a> and there is a few exemples at : <a href="http://run.aka-fotos.de/examples.php">http://run.aka-fotos.de/examples.php</a> I found the code for the planets thing pretty eloquent. [jQuery] How to display error/validation messages?
Jorn, Here's an example that I've been playing around with: http://beta.ksscholl.com/jquery/form2col.html This offers the user a message as to the nature of the error, as well as marking the label for the affected field. In this sample, the message(s) are placed at the beginning of the section containing the error or warning, but I also have allowances for error messages at the top, where the green "Optional System Message" currently resides. [jQuery] What is the best way to show() many items in sequence, one after the other?
If you have a jquery array of elements and need to call the show("slow") method on each one in turn, how should you do it? For instance how might would you reveal each LI element in a list one after the other? Just applying the show() method reveals them all at once eg: $("#myList LI").show("slow") so that's not what I need. Using callbacks works for one or two items but does not adapt easily to many items. I saw a technique somewhere that used arguments.callee, can anyone suggest how that might
[jQuery] Refresh an image with dynamic src URL?
What would be an ideal way to refresh an image whose src attribute is a script that dynamically generates the image? Would it be best to store the value of the src attribute in a variable, remove the img element from the DOM, and append a new image element with the same URL? In my quick tests, it seemed like the browser was just using the same image from the cache and I'm not sure how to get around that. Thanks for anything! m. _______________________________________________ jQuery mailing list discuss@jquery.com
[jQuery] IE bug - innerfade
Hi, I'm trying to use some jquery basics here: http://www.allergique.org/allergiqueNew/ -slide down/up (on the left menu) works quite fine. Just a problem with safari where the text after the menu that slide let some characters visible when it moves up with safari (and only with it). -innerfade (on the right side) works fine with Safari and FF but have a problem of persistent text, do you know how I could correct this? innerfade tips comes from : http://medienfreunde.com/lab/innerfade/ where the
