Hello Karl, I've been working with using ClueTip and image maps again and I think I have an idea on how to get rid of the native IE tips. Essentially (as a reminder) the problem was how to get rid of the native tooltip that IE throws up so that your not getting them at the same time as the ClueTip. Another consideration was to keep the HTML so that it would validate and also not to make the image map inaccessible for screen readers. I am using the validate plugin. I have the following input that is required: <label class="required">Last: </label><input type="text" name="emp_nameLast"> When the field is satisfied I want the required class to be changed to "satisfied" class so I can make it display differently. If the field is required then I want itr displayed red, if it has met the validate requirements than I want it to be black like all the rest. How would I do this?

I'm trying to use the beforeSubmit callback of the jQuery form plugin to check some values with the server before submitting the entire form, which can include a large file upload (which would be annoying to upload, and then fail due to other submitted values being invalid-- hence the pre-submit check). [jQuery] How do I update my control after I submit data to my database?
If I use jQuery .ajax to submit to my myUpdate.php file, after I do that, how do I then update my control that I submitted the information to update in the first place? For example, I have username textbox on a form, and I submit that username to a database. I then have a div or label that needs to show that newly submitted username if it is submitted to teh database correctly. I know how to submit the context of the textbox "username" to the database (.ajax,etc.), but not how to refresh that part

draggable and imageareaselect
hello everybody! I'm new to the jquery world and I need some help plz. I want to use both draggable items and imageareaselect function on the same webpage, but it can't get them to work. I've spent the last 2 days tryin' to drag a picture on top of another picture, and use the imageareaselect() function to select the 2 pictures at once. unfortunately, I can only get 1 function at a time, to work. anyone knows if that's possible? if yes can I get some tips on how to do it please sorry for the messy

I have this code to insert an HTML tag before an input field (input type="text" id="edit-title"). var myText = '<div id="msg">This is a message</div>'; $("#edit-title").focus(function() { $(this).before(myText); }); $("#edit-title).blur(function() { $(".nodemsg").remove(); }); Sometimes the focus event is called twice, for example if browser window is resized (firefox 3). Hi, Every ten seconds I'm checking the id of the last entry in my database. For this purpose I'm using a GET ajax request calling a really simple PHP code. This step works wonderfully for Firefox and Safari on PCs and Macs. IE however seems to return the same number over and over (the number it got from its first request), although I'm positive that the db has been updated correctly. Anyone familiar with this random behavior from IE? Clem.

I'm working on a script thats somewhat similar to a directory listing script and I'm trying to emulate the ability to select multiple files at once by holding down the shift key (its really more like the Ctrl or Apple key action instead of the shift key, but w/e). By themselves, keydown() and keyup() work fine. However, I seem to have run into a major issue. I am trying to use a checkbox to cause a div to show. The checkbox id is 'dd_yes'. I am new to jQuery and javascript is not one of my strengths. as long as I only have the $(id/class).hide(); code within the $ (document).ready(function() brackets, the divs are hidden.
