Any way to have a JQM app create a desktop (app) shortcut on mobile device?

My customer is wanting an easy way to allow their users to add a shortcut button to a mobile devices's desktop. Not sure if it is possible.

well, there is that + button at the bottom of the iphone where the user can tap to add it to their iphone desktop, i haven't tried on ipad but i'd be surprised if it didn't exist there too. I doubt there would be a way to do this without going native though. Maybe there is and i just haven't come across it yet.

Thanks Kevin,

I ran into some JS that was supposed to nag the user about creating a link but that is the best I could find. The android phones are not as easy as the iphone.

No, not on iOS, and don't expect this to change.

Apple is not fond of "drive by" actions on the part of websites. The user has to approve this sort of thing. The only way they can insure that the user approved is for the action to be taken by Apple-supplied software. (i.e. the + in the browser itself.)
