Anyway to change settimeout to infinity or something akin

Hello,

Im trying to change a jquery plugin that uses a settimeout.

Is there anyway to change the settimeout time value thingy to ignore the value. If I try to take it out I basically have to re-write the whole plugin ...Trying VERY hard to avoid that ...<lazy>

After reading my post it didnt make sense to me either.

What Im trying to accomplish is I have a autosuggest dropdown that goes away after a few seconds. After the timeout value is reached it is then destroying the dropdown. I am trying to get the autosuggest to have either an infinite delay or to break the function without breaking the whole js. When I do that, the autosuggest dropdown stays there until the screen is refreshed. Iwant them to just be able to click out of it, similar to the modal screen.

Is there anyway to ...?cancel/override?... the delay timeout.
