Best solution to get fixed toolbars

Hi there, there are many questions about this thread but i didn't find a good answer yet, maybe there isn't ?

I need to develop a mobile app using Phonegap but the application needs to have true fixed toolbars, i know in the current version it is not supported and it should be in the 1.1. But even, i guess, in the new version it won't be supported by all devices, it will probably uses JS if it can't use new CSS properties ?

The other problem is that i need this application to be compatible with loads of devices, and this is why i choosed jQuery mobile.

Because i want my application to be native-like, should i use another framework, even if a loose an important list of devices (only webkit), or is there a solution i didn't find in this forum ? :p

Well, jquery mobile has a property that supports fixed positions.

It's the data-position="fixed" that does the trick

<div data-role="footer" data-position="fixed">
.......content..........
</div>

Then, to make it platform compatible with many OS's, I use phonegap.

Hi Christopher,

That's what jQuery mobile does, but these toolbars aren't really fixed, they are repositioned by Javascript, which makes them moving or disappearing. What i'm looking for is make them stay in position :)

More over the current version isn't working well on Windows Phone 7.5.

I'm thinking about using iScroll and a CSS fix for non webkit browsers but i'll loose performance in this case, and run into others troubles probably :)
