Did you ever solve this? I'm running into a similar issue with this plugin.

In my opinion, the problem is that you are trying to call the BookBlock init while added images are still loading.

You can do a test to see if I'm right: add images to the DOM but call the BookBlock initialization only after (for example) 30 seconds, just to be sure all images are completely loaded.

 

You canot wait to initialie the plugin.  If you do that, the user sees no image for 30 seconds.

Ideally, it should be possible to add pages after loading.
In my case, I am actually generating the images from a PDF on the fly.
It's silly to have to wait until the images are generated before initializing the plugin but apparently, it will not work otherwise.

I too could not get it to work.
Very disappointing.  Seems like a "plugin half ripe".  Not really thought out all the way through.
The fact that developers add content is a fact of life and having a plugin that cannot deal with the is like a football team that only makes it 9 yards.  Just not good enough.

If somene can show a way to get this working I will be happy to praise the plugin.  Until then, nothing but frustration.

jQuery is only aware of the elements in the page at the time that it runs, so new elements added to the DOM are unrecognized by jQuery. To combat that use event delegation(http://learn.jquery.com/events/event-delegation/), bubbling events from newly added items up to a point in the DOM that was there when jQuery ran on page load. Many people use `document` as the place to catch the bubbled event, but it isn't necessary to go that high up the DOM tree. Ideally you should delegate to the nearest parent that exists at the time of page load.(http://stackoverflow.com/a/12824698/1011527)
