date.js is a helpful library for comparing dates, simplification of getting days of week etc

Must there be an actual row separator? If you could use extra padding and css within a row might be fairly easy to use a datagrid plugin to manage sorting and use callback of the grid sort rendering to add classes to "separator" rows

does every week have a full set of days in data? so all start Saturday, end Sunday?

if so makes it failry easy to add a class for start and end of week and insert row before each start

really not sure what you are dealing with...is data random? or already sorted?

if it's already sorted issue is not hard to overcome
