Cycle plugin and hosted jQuery 1.4

When I download jQuery-1.4.2 and use that with the Cycle plugin it works properly. This is true for both the compressed and uncompressed version. However, when I use the hosted version it does not work. My photos are in a list, as if the z-index was erased.
