datepicker validation error with webkit

There is this old trouble with validating a choosen date in the datepicker ui using safari and chrome when date format is dd/mm/yy.

Found this thread with a home made fix : https://forum.jquery.com/topic/datepicker-with-date-validation-fails-in-webkit-browsers

Haven't tried it yet but seems weird this behavior is not officially fixed.

Anybody knows anything about it ?

Ok then, at least, thanks to danmaster for sharing his fix for this abnormal and mysterious behavior with a webkit browser because it does work fine.

So anyone having trouble with validation a dd/mm/yy date format should check his post above and follow the link he provided with an example.

Wish I could get an answer from an expert regarding the reason why and how come there is no fix provided by the team but anyway..

Life goes on..
