Getting data from the DOM
in Using jQuery

How do i retrieve info such as the scrollWidth from the DOM?
I thought .data would do the trick but it isnt working. This is what i have:
var maxscroll = jQuery.data(this, "scrollWidth");
console.log(maxscroll);
But the console just says undefined(this is in a mouseover event so "this" should work)
