I'd like to know the ideas, how to create a responsive menu like this (from www.codecademy.com), here I can choose a menu category and expanding the content, while another category is collapsed.

Jake, do you know how the browser recognize that I'm in the active link? so the image could change like below from the green one into the blue on

I would match the links on the page for the one that equals the location.href then set a class on that link.
