.hide() + .show() produces different results than .hide("slow") + .show("slow")

Ok. For one... there is this infinite loop sweet spot where the div will collapse then expand and just keep going. But that doesn't bug me as much as the fact that when I hover over my div (the red box) the "Oh Hey Dair" is in line with the "postBar" DESPITE the <br/>
The Br does go away when the mouse is out, but it doesn't come back. It not coming back is the only problem.
