hide spinner in hidden now div

Hi, folks!
I have 2 tabs (for example 'cars' and 'girls')
How can I hide an element(spinner.gif) if it`s in the girls div, but currently this div is hidden(css.visibility=hidden)?I have a spinner on 2nd tab of page(tab isn`t visible by default as first tab is shown) till user clicks 2nd tab.
So, the problem is that spinner element stays visible except cases when girls tab is visible(active).
