How can I set up an exit to close the app?

What's the best way to let the user close the app? I saw an example of an exit popup screen in the documentation, but there must be more to it than just the popup. Does some script have to be added somewhere?

When I try backing out of my app, it just brings up the splash screen and then the app comes back on.

You're barking up the wrong tree. jQuery Mobile has nothing to do with "apps", though it can be used within a WebView if you are creating a native app that uses a WebView. It has no super cow-powers outside of the WebView.

If you use PhoneGap/Cordova or other similar platform, they might provide some extension that lets you do this from Javascript. You have to check with PhoneGap documentation.

Caveat: you're still keeping us guessing. I'm guessing that you must be creating some sort of native app with some sort of WebView wrapper.

Okay, and yes, I'm using PhoneGap. So I'll ask there.

Don't mean to 'keep you guessing' -- just that I'm a newbie and just feeling my way through this. I've got the slideshow working now, thanks to your help, and am just trying to integrate some things in the app now, like the menu button, social sharing, etc, which will be all through PhoneGap, I guess.
