How do I hook up the "orientationchange" event

in jQuery Mobile • 12 years ago

Hi,
Anybody that knows how to use the "orientationchange" event? Do I bind it to the page ID?

Hey,

i'm using it like this and its working fine:

$(window).bind('orientationchange',function(e){
doSomeStuff();
});

Hi again,

well I guess I was too swift replying. My primary target is the Iphone and being satisfied with testing on my dev systems I ran deploy to check it out on the phone. The Iphone 3 did not respond to the orientation change.

Any clues?

Hi Tobi,

Yes it did work. After following your advise I could actually already detect the orientationchange in DW CS 5.5 by an alert statement and in "Live view" changing the orientation (under the design window).

Just mentioning that I amazed how DreamWeaver manages to display the fully functional JQM/Phone GAP application in "Live View". I had it for a few weeks but it was not until yesterday I grasped its wonders i.e. figured out that I had it fully working in the split "Live view". Now I don't have to separately emulate or debug javascript, most thing could be tested while designing.
