How do I use the jquery autocomplete to read a specific column of a *.xls file?

I'm trying to find a way to build a "script writer" in order to more easily write executable scripts if I can download the document, but not put anything on the server as far as code goes so far. What do you recommend for having the JavaScript read the *.xls, and populate the autocomplete from the data available?
