How to make a Submit button also open an image in a lightbox?

How to make a Submit button also open an image in a lightbox?

I need an "Add to Cart" button to both submit the form and then display an image for 2 seconds (item added icon) in a lighbox, then have the lighbox close automatically.

Exactly how do I do that? (sorry, I'm very new to jQuery and site development in general)
