How to set css zoom level to local storage

I am using a jquery function to zoom in/out. I need to save there preference to local storage. All of the examples I have found save strings and objects, wouldn't this be a interger?

You can safely store an integer as a string. I would use localStorage.

almost there. When I refresh the page once it will remember setting. second time goes back to default. when i close browser window it goes back to default as well. What do you think is happening?
