How to set dialog defaults in 1.8?

Hi Guys,

In jquery ui 1.8 I could set the dialog defaults as follows:

$(document).ready(function () {
   $.extend($.ui.dialog.defaults, {
   closeOnEscape: false,
   modal: true,
   bgiframe: true,
   resizable: false,
   autoOpen: true
   });
});

But now in 1.8 I can't. Iv'e tried some different ways, but I can't put it work.

Anyone can help?

In jQuery UI 1.8, the defaults have been moved to $.ui.dialog.prototype.options

Hi,

Thanks for the answer. I've seen the upgrade guide, but I can't put it work. What I want is to set the modal option to true for all dialogs. I tried

$.extend($.ui.dialog.prototype.defaults, {
closeOnEscape: false,
modal: true,
bgiframe: true,
resizable: false,
show: 'fade',
autoOpen: true
});

But it didn't work....

change 'defaults' to 'options'

$.extend($.ui.dialog.prototype.options, {...

worked fine for me, but it works only when it's stated just before .dialog() execution

so i can't put it to common file containing all jQuery settings

There's no reason it would have to be *just* before the .dialog() call. Any time after jQuery UI Dialog script is loaded on the page and before the .dialog() call will do just fine.
