Hi there guys,

I'm really new to jQuery and I would like to know how can I update jQuery on a html website (currently on version 1.6.2) a step-by-step guide how be great.

List all the features of jQuery you have used.

Determine how each has changed jQ 1.6.2 to 1.8.2

Adjust your code accordingly

Test your code & deploy

The main reason I'm asking is because I have a image slider that is not working on Firefox, and (because I'm a newbie on jQ) I decided to ask how to update jQ to the latest version. Maybe that will do the trick.

Do you know a place were I can learn the basics (updating steps included)?

I believe the slider is implemented as a plugin. Plugins are somewhat tricky when it comes to upgrading. Read the docs and look for recommended version(s) and stick to that or check to see if the plugin has been updated for the latest release of jQuery.

There are tutorials on jquery.com. Try those.
