Hello,
Well, I think the title sums it up, but here it is:
(optional scenario, just skip this part if you just want me to get to the point of the question): for one of my classes, I have to make a website for a non-profit organization. I have a three-level menu: Section 1 > Page 1 > Subsection 1 - 2 -3... etc. The way it's organized is "sections" are tabs, "pages" are buttons and "subsections" are accordion items, basically. I want to be able to access the accordion items using the url, because my third-level menu is a roll-over which shows the subsections. I guess it's really not as clear as I wish it was, so anyway...
Let's get to the point:
When the user clicks on an item of the sub-menu, let's say "pasta" in the "food" sub-menu, it sends him to "food.htm#pasta", a page which has an accordion widget with "Pasta" and other sub-sections in it. What I want to do is retrieve "pasta" from the url and activate the accordion item named "Pasta". I guess I can handle the accordion activation part, because it's pretty easy, but I'm new at jQuery, first project, and I can't find the way to do this, or if it's even possible to do something like that using Javascript to start with.
If it is not possible, I would appreciate some other solutions to do something similar but of course just telling me if it is possible or not (and how to do it if it is) would be nice!
Thanks in advance,
Karl
