Looks to me like it's some problem with your installation of Chrome
or Windows 7!
The font is styled as:
font: 15px/22.5px
"Helvetica Neue", HelveticaNeue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
So, it prefers to use
Helvetica Neue (a free Google font), and if that is not available,
then it falls back to Helvetica, Arial, or any sans-serif font (in
order of preference).
Did you perhaps
install Helvetica Neue on your system, but didn't install
the italic variant? If so, then your browser is faking the
italics, which might make it look like the image you captured.
If you install some font on
your system, you should always install at least normal and bold,
and italic in both normal and bold.
(I would install more
weights than that, and Helvetica Neue is free and has many weights...)
Looks fine on my
Windows 7/Chrome! Caveats: I'm running it under VMWare on a
Mac, the Windows 7 installation is pretty "clean" and
unchanged (I have not installed any fonts) and I just now
installed Chrome.
