JQM gradient cutting out - very odd behavior

I've noticed some very strange gradient behavior while using JQM 1.1. The only other mention of this issue seems to be here: http://www.painintheapps.com/2011/05/first-impressions-of-jquery-mobile.html

Basically the gradient cuts out and starts over or something to the right of my page. The two attached photos will show what I mean. The odd thing is, this only seems to happen on my iPad2, running iOS 5.1. Every desktop browser I try it on (Chrome, Safari, IE) does not have this issue.

I've played with viewport settings, css settings, and nothing seems to work.

Has anyone else had their background cut out and restart? I can't believe I'm the only one having this issue.

I don't know how anybody can help you without seeing your CSS.

I would first try it in a bare page without jQuery Mobile, though.

Part of what's odd is that it's simply the theme roller generated css. Plus, it only shows up on Mobile Safari, so using chrome's dev tools don't really help. If anyone would like to see a relevant portion of the css I would be happy to post it.

Run Mobile Safari in the iOS Simulator, enable remote Javascript debugging (search for the little shell script to enable it), navigate to localhost:9999 from any browser, and you have a full Web Inspector.

Post the relevant CSS and <head> contents. Without these, it's a waste of time for anybody to try to help you. Always post <head> since more than half the problems reported here can be solved with correct <head> contents.

It sounds, though, like it might be a viewport issue.

I was able to solve this issue by setting the viewport width to a static value. Thanks for the iOS SImulator idea. I don't generally develop on the Mac (unless I'm using Hype) but I'll certainly try that next time I run into a similar issue.
