Well, I am a developer but in other fields (Java, c++, etc) and I do know a little about Javascript but you are right, I don't know enough to troubleshoot this issue. I've contact the template developers and they said they'll try to help me with this issue. Hope they will. I know the answer is using the no.conflict but don't know where. I guess that if even one of the developers (template or plugin) used it correctly then I wouldn't be having this issue. 

I was naive to think that maybe it's an easy fix but I guess I was wrong. Will the site URL help in any way?

The accordion slider is the module and the problems can be seen in the menu, the lightbox popup of product picture and of "ask a question about this product" button (which should be lightbox popup as well).

It will be more then great if you could solve this issue for me. I've contacted the module developer and even offered money for his help with no response. The template was developed by Indians from Bangladesh and from my experience, they are not really keen on doing extra work (with on offence to any Indian reading this post). 

I did purchase a JavaScript book ant hopefully a couple of weeks from now I'll be able to repay you guys and solve your issues :)

This provides ways to deal with other libraries that use the $ variable, and/or deal with different scripts that require different versions of jQuery.

Is that what you are talking about? Or something else? Because the next sentence makes me suspicious.

The main effects of the accordion slider on my site are related to dynamic efffects for example, the drop down menu of the main menu - products should have a drop down with several sub menus, and lightbox effect under any givven product. When clicking on any product image or "Ask more about this product" button a popup lighbox should open.

I know for sure that the module uses JQuery and assumed the template does as well.

I did much reading about this sort of issues and most of them where related to JQuery conflic which in my understanding is the case of two instances of different versions of JQuery contradicting one another.

If that isn't the case then I feel quite foolish and sorry for waisting your time...

It would even be useful to give us separate URLs for an example showing the use of the accordion (working) and one showing the use of the theme (working). Then we can see if each is using jQuery, and which version it is using.

The module uses jQuery 1.10.2, jQuery Migrate (which supports code intended for jQuery < 1.9), and jquery-noconflict. (But haven't looked to see just how it is using jQuery no conflict. It's a wrapper for flexslider for use with Joomla. I've used flexslider, and it's solid and works, if a bit creaky. I know nothing of Joomla, though, so no idea what is needed to marry the two.

The module has a large number of warnings messages (224) but they look benign. I think IE * workarounds for IE <6. 

I'd start by getting a template that isn't protected.  I'd assume that the JS code is not just minified but probably run through some additional obfuscation. You can't work with that template.

I'd get something either free or that gives you the ability to work with the code and modify it if you have to.
