I am trying to update the drop down values based on the ajax text response . Below is the snippet i have tried but its not working .Please help!

HTML code:

<option id="ABC:57" value="ABC:57">$50,000</option>

Javascript code :

$("#"+val).html(document.getElementById(val).text.append(" 21"));

I am expecting output in dropdown as : $50,000 21

If you want to add the same thing (21) to each option… https://jsfiddle.net/jakecigar/r3m4c7fd/1/ <--

If you want to add different things to each option, use a JSON response… https://jsfiddle.net/jakecigar/r3m4c7fd/ <--

var data = {
"ABC:57": "21",
"ABC:58": "21",

}
$(function() {
$.each(data, function(k, v) {
$("[value='" + k + "']").text(function(i, t) {
return t + " " + v

})

In both demos, I dropped the ids, as they are not needed.

Thanks for your response . Still i dont get the drop down values updated .

I am using button to submit the form : <input id="submitApp" type="button" value="Submit">

Not sure if page is getting rendered already after successful ajax call and hence drop down values are not getting updated.

I changed the displayed text.

<option value="ABC:57">$50,000</option>

to

<option value="ABC:57">$50,000 21</option>

Did you want something like

<option value="$50,000 21">$50,000</option>

or something else?

I want in UI to show the drop down values as :$50,000 21 . I tried your option it works fine in fiddler but in my code i still dont see UI drop down getting updated.

When i do inspect element in browser i am able to see the values appended fine.But the css is have li span tag which is not having these updated drop down values and hence not displaying at UI.Need to verify why span is causing issue.Any idea on this?

I have no idea. Are you using a plugin or other code to change the select?

I am using materializecss select options.

Forms - Materialize Implies you should destroy it then recreate it, Or read more about it in their docs.
