not sure I like it so much... I am up for progress, but maybe I fear
for this site. the bbc is a special case IMHO. I'm of the opinion it
should stay very lightweight a la google / yahoo (pre 2000). I already
pay for the license fee... why should I pay for the increased
bandwidth by this behemoth of code?
JQ is lightweight.. but loading this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/home/beta/4.10/script/jquery.interface.hp.compressed.json such a high traffic page.... with all the rest in the source on the
beta pages? its not lightweight anymore thats for sure. You need to
see it in action on a newsworthy Monday at lunchtime to see how it
really performs.
massive kudos for jquery tho. this is like getting a royal seal from
the queen...
