jQuery mobile and JSF?

Hi,
Just tried a simple test to see if I could use jQuery mobile with JSF.
I copied the code from http://jquerymobile.com/demos/1.0rc1/docs/pages/page-template.html into an html page and into an xhtml page.I deployed both of these as part of a simple JSF application.
The plain html page works fine on my desktop and iPhone, the xhtml file works fine on my desktop, but not on iPhone - the page is shown plain as if jquery wasn't being picked up at all.
Has anyone had any success using jQuery mobile with JSF, or does anyone have any idea why this wouldn't work?
