jquery mobile - why is popup overlay causing panel to open automatically

in jQuery Mobile • 9 years ago

I am building a phonegap web app with jquery mobile. There are left and right panels in the home page.When i use data-overlay-theme in <div data-role="popup"></div> , and when the popup opens by clicking on an anchor tag , the left panel opens automatically. This behavior is not seen when i don't apply data-overlay-theme on the popup div. Thank you.
