jquery special event hoverintent on accordion not working in jquery 1.7

This worked in the older version of jQuery. Only thing that is stopping me from upgrading the new version right now. Anyone know a solution to get this working with jquery 1.7?

What's odd is that hover is opening the sections, there is just no delay?

Here is the example of it working with jquery 1.6.2 http://jqueryui.com/demos/accordion/hoverintent.html

This is related to jQuery alone, nothing to do with jQuery UI or accordion. Here's a more minimal test page with 1.6.4:

With 1.7.0 there's a collision with the hover event name, but even if we rename the special event, it doesn't work:

where the same does work with 1.6.4. I did a manual bisect of jQuery core and found the break happens sometime on Sep 19, 2011

I've now got it narrowed down to sometime between 269899a50646e9c1a4f58f1fe91a8a7262fd77e7 (good) and e7a7cc8914cc1da17fd6fd14b370532d6f273069 (bad). The ones in-between won't build with make when checked out using the sha1 because of some submodules issue with sizzle.

Two problems here. First, the core code was mistreating the name "hoverintent" thinking it was the "hover" event. I've fixed that in the -git version and it will be in 1.7.1. Second, the special event handler was clobbering the event.type parameter by changing it to "hoverintent" and this was causing trouble for the event code that ran later.

The fix is to move that one line event.type from the mouseover event handler into the timer function, here is the fixed version: http://jsfiddle.net/dmethvin/tgWKZ/15/

It seems like hoverintent is really a hoverin event, and should have a corresponding hoverout. If i get a second I'll try to work on that as another example for the special event docs.

Awesome, in the mean time I had just used the hoverIntent plugin to do the same thing, but thanks for the fix!
