Am I crazy or is this validation plugin totally useless if you got your radiobuttons horzontally aligned?

I am trying to get my error message showing under the radiobuttons but it seems that it's not possible without it screwing up the layout because the error message always show right after the first radiobutton and therefor pushes the other radiobuttons away.

Is there any way I can place it in a way that it won't do that? I'm trying to get this done for 4 days now and it's driving me nuts!
