Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask such a question,

How can I manipulate the multimedia devices connected to a computer ? I'd like to access the video and audio streams and send them to my website.

jQuery doesn’t get involved with this kind of thing.

By Devices do you mean video camera and microphone? JavaScript can do it some things. But if you mean video projector or CD player, it can not.

I am trying to create a simple video chat application and I thought I can access the webcam using jQuery and then send video stream to server.

Video chat is bleeding edge tech.

I am currently writing a chat app as well, I had video chat in place, and scrapped it because I couldn’t get it to work from firefox to chrome, IE and Safari just don’t do anything.

I settled on Selfie pix and movies and audio clips,
