Malsup Cycle jQuery plugin as an event ticker?

Another question for the malsup cycle plugin: I can imagine the malsup cycle plugin used as an event ticker, something that would look similar to: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/sagscroller.htm but be much more versatile/easy to use.

However I do not have the J S/Query know how to implement such a thing.

a) Is this possible?

b) How hard would it be to implement?
