Migrating Jquery v1.5 to v3.3.1

Hi, I am a webmaster in Brazil and I am working at a System that uses Jquery v.1.5 . I am using bootstrap so I have to migrate my system to a new version of Jquery. Cuz we have to have the best perfomance and the new version. But the JQuery have a lot of conflicts with the old version because of the functions at the list "deprecated". I am not sure what is the best option now: Make a new code or try to migrate all the old one. Example of function that I have so much here .live(); that I have to migrate to .on(); What you think that could be the best option in this case?

Since nobody here has seen your code, we can’t make a definitive guess which way you should go.

I would rewrite. Bootstrap does so much for you. You may not need as much code as you have in the old system.

Actually, its a big internal system at the company. And its a kinda of complex but its using jquery to validate a lot of things and to manipulate a lot of pages. Im in the middle of a bunch of conflicts and Im thinking about the best way. So its not just "a" code. Its a lot of pages. Bootstrap saved me so much time with UX but the system makes complexy things too.... and thats the problem.

Thanks for yout comment. I want to see what people think about it before decide the way i will take.

How could anyone give advice on a site that hasn’t been seen?

Would you like another opinion? My first boss would have said…

Just patch the old code until it works. We’ve been doing it this way for years. Just make it work.

She was wrong then, and she is wrong now.

Its an internal page... But I am thinking the same... patch the old cold is not sounding as a solution for me... But I dont have so much experience with JQuery to say with propriety. Everybody that I know goes upgrading the code according to the news versions... Its so much to just patch.
