Possibility of a native app that loads the URL

We are doing an Web-based application using jquerymobile, to run on mobile devices.

The URL of the application will be say for example. http://ourwebsite.com/start.php

We would like to create a native-app that just opens the above URL in browser and we need the native-app to be approved in appstore. is that possible?

I'm neither a native coder nor can I say if your app will be approved. But I can recommend you to put your whole jQuery mobile app into a PhoneGap / Cordova app. PhoneGap can create a native-like app of it (it's like a web container and provides APIs in order to access some hardware components). If you want to keep your app on your server and access it from the app or open it up in a new browser: That is also possible with PhoneGap / Cordova.

That's possible, but it won't be approved by Apple. Google does't care, you can shovel total cr*p at them and they will put it in the store. ;)

Reasons cited will be:

- Your application appears to be a trivial packaging of an existing website.

- Your application requires that the user be online in order to use it. Provide offline capabilities.

Even if you package it up in a PhoneGap app and include all of the HTML internally, it will still be rejected for the first reason.
