problem linking to forum topic from email client (Thunderbid)

hi jQuery folks....
ever since you guys starting sending email notifications en HTML emails, something weird happens when I click on "view this topic" button in the email:
my email client is Thunderbird, and when I go to view topic, Thunderbird opens a blank new email (nothing gets inserted into any fields), then a new blank Thunderbird window opens (a new blank tab, in other words), then does it go to forum page on the browser (same thing happens when I click on "view <respondent's> profile" button...)
(no problem when link to forum from gmail webmail, only when link from Thunderbird (which is what I always use, I don't like webmail..)
and: why is this textarea element not resizable like they are practically everywhere now? ;-)
