append() to head not working in 1.5

I am not able to re-open a ticket, and I can't find the contact information of somebody to do it for me.

I'd like to re-open Ticket #7522, since I am again able to reproduce it in 1.5.1. Is there an easy way to do this?

edit: I changed the title, since the content of the topic is going in the direction of tickets #7522, #5819, #8607 and #8574.

I think you have to file a new ticket. Before you do that though perhaps we can work through it here.

I think I'll make a new ticket.

The bug was closed simply as 'worksforme', but I can easily reproduce it in IE with the scenario provided on ticket Ticket #5819 (which was marked as a duplicate of the previous) and the latest jQuery 1.5.1, and I have seen some more references to this issue, like in this forum thread.
