Hi guys,
would be nice if the dialog corrects its position after the browser window was resized. Perhaps you coud provide an option for that.

This will work but it's not dynamic ... when you try to get the getter it fails.

That's in invalid test. $( "div" ) will not match the dialog because creating a dialog generates new divs. See http://jsbin.com/imemo/4

Here's a little extension that adds an autoReposition option to dialogs (defaults to true).
$.ui.dialog.prototype.options.autoReposition = true;
$( window ).resize(function() {
$( ".ui-dialog-content:visible" ).each(function() {
var dialog = $( this ).data( "dialog" );
if ( dialog.options.autoReposition ) {
dialog.option( "position", dialog.options.position );
}
});
});
To make it work with 1.7.2, change the first line to:
- $.ui.dialog.defaults.autoReposition = true;

This is working for me.
Note: Replace #dialog with the id or
class that you are using as the parent container of your dialog.

based on Ellen's post I did this to center an uncooperative dialog:
- dialog.dialog('option', 'position', [((screen.width/2)- ($( "#add-stuff" ).dialog( "option", "width" )/2) ), ((screen.height/2)- ($( "#add-stuff" ).dialog( "option", "height" )/2) )]);
