I am using the datepicker from 1.8.4 to create a calendar. When I move forward in months to pick a date, I notice that the same day it is today is automatically highlighted. I am not sure why this is the case, but I don't want it highlighted. Is there anyway to set an option to stop this?

Thanks for finding this and reporting it. This bug was introduced by http://dev.jqueryui.com/ticket/5676 and will be fixed by http://dev.jqueryui.com/ticket/6116

Here's a workaround in the meantime

$("#datepicker").datepicker({
onChangeMonthYear: function() {
setTimeout(function() {
$(".ui-datepicker .ui-state-active").removeClass("ui-state-active");
}, 0);
}
});

This is already fixed in master and will go out with 1.8.6.

Actually this does the trick, BUT it does it too well. It removes the highlight of the date when you move backwards or forwards. However, it ALSO removes it when you move back to the current month.

Reproduce Via:

Click any date - it highlights that date

Go Back one month - numerical date is highlighted then goes away

Go Forward on month (back to the original month) - numerical date is highlighted and then goes away
