I'll try my best to explain what I want to do with this. All I want is when opening my blog archive, I want the page to scroll down when I click it open. How to do this? I tried to find an example code, but couldn't.

Post a link to a page that has an example of the effect you want.
BTW have you considered using some CSS/JS framework, like Bootstrap?
(I wouldn’t suggest jQuery UI though, not for new projects!)
Much easier than rolling your own. Take a look at the demos, quite complete and VERY popular.
Jquery UI and jQuery are fading stars. Have you noticed that this place is usually as quiet as a graveyard?

And is there something wrong with that, or something you’d like to do differently?
You seem to like animation effects. Here’s a lightweight solution with a large number of cool effects that I have used myself. It uses CSS for animation, which works more smoothly than jQuery animate. It is VERY easy to use.
It doesn’t use any Javascript. You will have to use a little Javascript to add CSS classes to a node when you want to animate it. But if you simply want to perform some animation when the page is first shown, you done need to write any javascript at all.

For your blog’s main page archive links you can add…
- $(document).on("click",".bloglinks",function(e){
- e.preventDefault();
- $.get(this.href,function(page){
- $("main",page).insertAfter("main");
- $("main:first").animate({height:0},2000,function(){
- $(this).remove();
- });
- })
- })
It will catch a link, convert it to AJAX, insert the <main> into the page, and animate the older main to hide it. Then it removes the old main.
You could change lines 5-7 into something fancier with CSS for some smoothness.

Hi Jake, thanks. I'll look into that. I guess I'm not being specific enough as to what I want to do. You know how in some websites, you open their blog archive and the whole page scrolls down? That's what I'm looking for.

Do you want to change your blog archive page to do a "lazy load" of the entire archive?

Tried it out by changing "bloglinks" to "special", but it scrolls my post body. I want the whole page to scroll when I open my blog archive.

Yes. It scrolls the post, leaving the rest of the page in place. If you want to scroll more, you would probably need a lot more code.

My code is for your main blog pages. Not for the archive page. For the archive page, discard most of what you have and implement a lazy load.

Throw away the entire page. Start all over using code that does lazy load.
