jQuery Mobile

Has anyone been successful in calling .reset() on a dropdown? I've tried many different ways including using a reset button and nothing as worked.

I've just tried setting the value using .val() on the select and also .attr('selected', 'selected') on the option and both don't seem to work. Has anyone encountered this issue?

$("#mcatid option[value="2"]").attr('selected', 'selected');
$('#mcatid').selectmenu('refresh');
This works for me

Your trick almost worked. However, I have to push the button twice to reset the form. Any idea why? What am I doing wrong?

http://jsfiddle.net/4Knny/
here got an example working with your code
its also present in the documentation of multiple selects
http://jquerymobile.com/demos/1.0a4.1/docs/forms/forms-selects.html
scroll right to the bottom.
don forget to add the true to the refresh method, else the checkboxes remain in the previous state.
