You'll also be able to choose whether adding to the selection automatically clears previous selections. But it still won't limit you to one item. Or any number or items. None of the different use cases and existing implementations that we are modeling this selectable refactor on allow at most one selection. Here are a few examples:Ok, so you're implying that the selectable has a sole purpose of the whole lasso thing. But you can also CTRL+Click to select many items and technically, you can select a single item.
I'm not saying you should use the lasso effect to select a single item. I'm just saying that I think the widget should support single select.

Here are a few examples:I really would like to reconsider those use cases. I think it is fairly common to find the need of offering a single selection model to the user. It doesn't make sense to have to implement it from scracht (for example, the keyboard navigation or the css class switching, having a selectable component that already do all this).

- Gmail (selecting mail messages in inbox view)
- Text selection
