Sortable CSS style is not showing when sortable element is not <ul>

in Using jQuery UI • 13 years ago

I am trying to use sortable to <tbody> and other html elements.

so far, they can too be sortable but the default jQuery UI CSS style will not apply.

Does anyone try to use sortable on other html elements too? how to work around the style problem?

which default jQuery UI CSS style? Sortable doesn't have any default styling.

I mean, I have choose a theme "redmond" from the website and include it in the page where I am using sortable.

I try that on <ul>, each item will becomes a bluish box.

don't see that happen to <tbody>. Maybe it has something to do with ASP.NET masterpage.

But anyway, I am now adding style manually.

Can you provide some more detail on what you mean by "I try that on <ul>"? No jQuery UI theme, including redmond has styling specific for <ul> on their own, and neither is there any styling specific to sortables. Are you adding a jQuery UI CSS Framework class to the ul?

The first part, will have blurish style, the second part won't.

but I solved the problem by adding ui-state-default to the item and prepend <span class="ui-icon ui-icon-arrowthick-2-n-s">, then I will get the exact same thing like the jqueryui demo.

I don't know if this is the right way of doing it.

I was unable to reproduce any style on the sortable ul based on your code sample:

It sounds like you may be including some demo css? This is not part of the jQuery UI CSS Framework/any jQuery UI theme.
