Tooltip shows in popup dialog in open

This is the same as this old thread which surprised me as that is quite an old topic now.

To recap - if you have the tooltips active on the document and then open a dialog, the very first 'title' attribute on the popup triggers a tooltip to open regardless of where the mouse is. And you have to click to remove it. We make a lot of use of the dialog!

As this is happening on the UI libs I downloaded just yesterday this is clearly still an issue. So I don't expect a proper fix.

But - can anyone suggest a sensible workaround - apart from rewriting all of our popups as per the suggestion in the old topic...! Any advice or help appreciated...

Use items.

Ah.. .now why didn't I think of that!

I posted the full source because I ran a few scenarios and this was the first one to work.

I pulled up the tooltip API page, and looked for an ignore type option. It did not exist. So I forced items to do my bidding.

I looked back at the question you referred to. It was different enough that this trick wouldn’t have helped. I am glad you posted your own question. I am sure future generations of programmers will have to deal with this same problem.

Sadly your solution works a little too well. Yes indeed the problem goes away as expected - but - we DO have items on many of our popup dialogs that themselves have tooltips and they no longer reflect the proper styled UI tooltips.

So everything within the dialog container gets excluded which - I suppose - should have been expected...

But I really do appreciate someone stepping up to the plate and helping out. Especially as my JavaScript skill is not as good as I would like it to be!

That was just one use of items. If you update the fiddle above to use a page that is more like your pages, we can come up with a more selective selector.
