8 years ago
Hello friends,
telephone: {required: true,rangelength: [6, 11],number:true}
telephone number length must be 6 or 11!
NOT 7,8,9,10
How can I do that?

Create your own method and use it in validator like
jQuery.validator.addMethod(
"telephonelength"
function(value,element){
if(element.value.length == 6 || element.value.length == 11){
return false;
} else {
return true;
}
},
"wrong telephone number"
);
Then use it like
telephone: {required: true,
telephonelength: true
,number:true}

Your own validation rule should start with a test for a blank value, otherwise you can never make the field optional:
jQuery.validator.addMethod(
'telephonelength',
function(value,element) {
return
this.optional(element) ||
value.length === 6 || value.length === 11;
},
'wrong telephone number'
);
