"UPDATE" INSTEAD OF "ADDING" A NEW IMAGE?

The above code always displays a thumbnail when an image is chosen.
But if I choose three different images three times - or not - the code will list me three different thumbnailS with the three images.

How to discard the previous image when choosing a new image, without listing all the chosen ones?

Your code doesn’t; use jQuery.

In jQuery you just use .html instead of .append.

If you want to go native, you need to specify which browsers you need to support. Current ones have more DOM manipulation methods.

Or you can create one <img> tag. Then change it’s src attribute,
